When you hear “lava-themed,” you might think of the vibrant sets from Netflix’s popular show “The Floor Is Lava.” However, this luxury resort offers something different. Magma Resort Santorini is the first of its kind from The Unbound Collection by Hyatt to open in the Greek Islands. Nestled in beautiful Vourvoulos, guests can enjoy stunning lava sand beaches overlooking the Aegean Sea and explore nearby vineyards.
The resort boasts 59 rooms, including 24 suites, along with a sun terrace, infinity pool, spa, and an on-site restaurant crafted by Chef Arnaud Bignon. He has successfully guided Athens’ Spondi and London’s Greenhouse to earn two Michelin stars.
Designed by People Architects and Elastic Architects, the resort’s architecture is influenced by the traditional Cycladic style and the surrounding lava slopes. The interiors feature minimalistic decorations with wood and stone, in darker tones echoing the hue of cooled magma. Standard amenities are provided in all rooms, some of which include private pools and verandas.
Magma by Spondi, the resort’s signature restaurant, draws inspiration from the rich history of Greek cuisine and aims to evoke a soulful experience. Chef Arnaud Bignon has crafted a menu that blends regional ingredients and traditional dishes with a modern twist.
The Lava Spa and Wellness Center is the perfect place for anyone seeking relaxation. As the largest spa on the island with 4,628 square feet, it includes an indoor pool and signature treatments designed to rejuvenate and revitalize.
Additionally, the resort offers a 2,454 square-foot event space called Magma Hall, accommodating up to 250 guests for various events.
