American Airlines to Revamp Admirals Clubs with Major Upgrades

American Airlines passengers have something exciting to anticipate. The airline is set to revamp its Admirals Club lounges starting this fall, beginning with the lounge at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Washington, D.C. Upgrades are also planned for lounges at Newark Liberty International Airport, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, and Denver International Airport.

Collaborating with DMAC Architecture & Interiors, American Airlines aims to infuse its new lounges with local landmarks and landscapes, along with signature brand elements, such as signage and sustainable features like renewable American walnut wood.

Dwayne MacEwen, founder and principal of DMAC Architecture & Interiors, stated, “Our goal in working with American is to create a welcoming environment where guests can experience the airline’s brand and airport lounge in a fresh new way.”

MacEwen further explained that the lounges will feature thoughtfully designed spaces that offer guests chances to engage, unwind, and refresh. The new Admirals Club lounges intend to provide a personalized hospitality experience, making sure every detail makes guests feel valued throughout their visit.

According to an airline spokesperson, the new designs use natural woods and open spaces to create a calming atmosphere, which is a key aspect of American’s lounge experience. Clarissa Sebastian, American Airlines’ Managing Director of Premium Customer Experience and Onboard Products, remarked, “The new Admirals Club design is inspired by our customers, who often tell us that visiting our lounges feels like coming home.”

The redesigned lounges will be accessible to annual and lifetime Admirals Club members, Citi/AAdvantage Executive World Elite MasterCard primary cardholders, ConciergeKey members, and AirPass members. However, if you’re not part of these groups, you can still enjoy the lounges with a day pass available for $59.
